BLUE BLUE
BL(UE)M
In this vast universe, blue symbolize the light of emotions, a mysterious and poetic color that touches the heart and awakens people's unique perception of beauty.
'BLUE" has been described by the blue enthusiast Klein as the most essential color of the universe, representing depth and infinity, life and freedom.
So, what profound reflections can the color blue provide in the eves of artists? In the art group exhibition"BLUEBLUEBL(UE)M," we have invited seven artists: CHUNG DIAN, JAES LEE, LU GAO, MARIUS SEIDLITZ, PATTARADANAI MOTIM, PLACID, and RORI HEE, to present their imagination of the color blue. This touch of blue is expressed in various forms and styles, corresponding to each artist's unique perspective and past experiences, constructing a rich sensory journey of blue. In the exhibition, the artists focus on human figures, their clever composition and skillful techniques transform the figures in representational or abstract forms on canvas, showing the intellectual vigor of the younger generation. The artists works serve as a contemplation of reality and dreams, and the blue color they dominate reveals hidden symbolism.
In the hot days of summer, let us immerse ourselves in blue and enjoy the tranquility and freedom.

RORI HEE
RORI HEE was born in Seoul, South Korea and studied Visual Art and Design at Jangan University. She worked as a cartoon designer and planner for Cyworld, the largest community website in Korea. During this period, she accumulated a lot of artistic practice experience, which laid the foundation for her later individual artistic creation. After working at a big company for nearly 10 years, she got tired of the meaningless repeating 9-to-5 work, so she left Seoul and moved to Yangpyeong and started her personal career in art. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. Since then, she has been fighting against the disease yet she never gave up her pursuit of art. In 2021, she was finally cured of cancer and officially resumed her artistic career.
RORI HEE identifies herself with the image of a young girl in her artwork. Through her continuous exploration of art, she expresses her own sense of existence. The vibrant colors and playful imagination in her artwork reflect her longing for a brilliant life. To add a personal touch to her paintings, she utilizes techniques such as gestural creation, color layering, and fluorescent blending. PLACID
PLACID is an artist duo composed of sculptor Chen Lok Yan and painter Louise Chow. Chen and Chow were born in 1989 in Hong Kong, and received their Masters of Architecture (MArch) from the University of Hong Kong (HKU). The work of PLACID starts in 2019 with the creation of imaginary personalities. Psyches of rich sensibilities who are yet perceived as placid beings in the eyes of an observer. With years of experience as architects in Hong Kong before they start making art, the artist duo portray characters through formal operations, and the line is thin between them being a living person or a sculptural object. Iconic shapes and sharp edges blend subtly into soft undulations, and boundaries are ambiguous, just enough to suggest features to leave an impression. Contemplating on topics of peace, distance, plasticity and understanding, they explore using fluid formal expressions. Paintings by PLACID are done through unusual lenses, accentuating the changes in perception created by shifts in viewpoint or optical distortions. Despite their dynamic nature, they convey an atmosphere of peaceful equilibrium.
